Mariana
Reads

For people who want more than surface-level conversations about books.
Hi, I’m Mariana. I read slowly, annotate everything, and talk about books the way I would over a cup of tea with a friend. I’m interested in the stories behind the stories: writers’ letters, friendships and rivalries, literary history, film adaptations, and all the things that make a book worth talking about long after you’ve finished it.

Who I Am

Who I Am

I’m Mariana Reis. I live in Curitiba, Brazil, and I’m in the final year of my degree in English Language and Literature.

I have been studying English since 2009 and have been working as an English teacher since 2021, teaching Brazilian students at different levels and with diverse learning experiences. Alongside teaching, I create literary content and digital tools for readers seeking a more personal, intentional relationship with books.

Mariana Reads started as a small personal project and slowly turned into a community of readers from different corners of the world. Today I share writer rivalries, letters, literary history, film references, and my own thoughts on reading with thousands of people online.

For years, books have been the place where I think things through — where I question, disagree, and understand the world a little more deeply.

What I try to bring online is the kind of conversation that makes you want to open the book again: a line from an old letter, a feud between two writers, the film that changed how you see a character.

One of my biggest goals for the next few years is to continue my studies abroad through an exchange programme in England, at the end of 2027 or in mid-2028. More than travelling, this experience represents the possibility of exploring literary locations, libraries, and film settings that shaped many of the stories I have loved for years, while documenting and transforming those experiences into future projects.
Everything I currently build online is part of making that future possible.

For Brands

Media Kit

Literature, cinema, and reading culture for people who want more than surface-level conversations about books.

Mariana Reads is my corner of the internet for literature, cinema, and reading culture. I’m an English Literature student, and most of what I post starts in my own annotations: a letter between two writers, an old rivalry, a film adaptation that got a character right (or completely wrong).

I don’t make content around trends alone. I like videos that leave people curious enough to look something up, argue in the comments, or pick up the book again.

I also build tools for readers — like The Reading Archive, the Notion system I made out of years of reading, annotating, and researching during my degree.

What I read

English classics and contemporary literature — in English and in Brazilian Portuguese.

Not only books

I also work with bookish products that belong on a reader’s desk. I don’t drink coffee, so tea brands are very welcome — though I do love reading in cafés and meeting friends there.

Why work with me

My audience comes for conversations about books — and stays for them.

My videos follow the formats people watch today, but they are built on research and source material: literary history, writer rivalries, letters, cinema. People comment, disagree, share, and come back.

I don’t do purely promotional content. When a product appears in my videos, it is part of a story or of my routine, the way anything else in my life would be.

My literary content has reached millions of views organically, with a growing international audience. If your brand belongs in a reading nook — stationery, candles, pens and inks, a good cup of tea, a device to read on — it will fit here naturally.

Expanding Platforms

Instagram is where most of it happens today, but I’m also growing on TikTok, YouTube, Twitch, and Substack — with live discussions, longer essays, and new projects about literature and cinema.
Cafés, annotations, and a lot of paperbacks.
